Measures Implemented in Portugal to Curtail Covid 19 during the holiday season

Apparently, “we” have not been listening to the rules, which has resulted in a huge spike in Covid-19 cases in Portugal. Lisbon is considered to be “Very High & Extremely High Risk”, so instead of enjoying the holidays, we are being subjected to more restrictions during the holiday season starting the 24th of November. If you’re reading this, please follow the rules. I know we are getting a vaccine soon, but until that time, we, our friends, and loved ones are all at risk. So just be nice and follow the rules, will you? Ok. I preached enough. Here’s the stuff you need to know.

November 24 COVID-19 Rules & Regulations in Lisbon

This is a list of the new Covid-19 measures to take effect in the municipalities of very and extremely high risk, this includes Lisbon. They become effective at the renewal of the State of Emergency at 00:00 on November 24. 

  • No driving on public roads between 11 pm and 5 am.
  • No driving on public roads on Saturdays and Sundays between 1 pm and 5 am.
  • No going out on December 1 and 8 (apparently a public holiday here) between 1 pm and 5 am.
  • Stores and shops close at 3pm (1500) on November 30 and December 7.
  • Mandatory teleworking.
  • Use of a mask in workplaces.
