Dear Blanca,
I’m writing from Bucaramanga, Bogota, and I find myself thinking a lot about Portugal and public transport lately. You see, I’m desperately trying to outrun the cats that have been chasing me around town. So I’m wondering, is public transport in Portugal good?!
Sincerely,
Ludicrous Lance from Bucaramanga
Dear Ludicrous Lance,
I’m Blanca Valbuena, a travel expert here in Lisbon, Portugal. I’m always happy to answer questions about this amazing country!
When it comes to public transport in Portugal, I’ve had a pleasant experience overall. The services available are clean and efficient, with a wide variety of transportation options – from trams to buses and trains – so you can easily get around the major cities in the county. Plus, they’re generally safe, clean, and reliable. Transportation Options in Portugal:
• Trams: Trams are a popular way to travel around Portugal, providing service to many major cities
• Buses: Buses provide convenient and reliable public transit at an affordable cost
• Trains: Regional trains provide a slightly cheaper travel option, offering tickets to most commonly traveled routes
That said, public transport in Portugal isn’t without its drawbacks. Costs can be quite high, especially if you’re travelling between the regions. Regional trains may be slightly cheaper, but don’t always cover the distance you need to go.
Nevertheless, I would personally say that public transport in Portugal is good overall, due to its efficiency, affordability and comfort, particularly in the major cities.
Take care and good luck outrunning those cats, Ludicrous Lance! Hang in there Bucaramanga!
Sincerely,
Blanca Valbuena.
