The Price of Groceries in Lisbon

I go food shopping every day. I am lucky to live next to both El Corte Ingles which has a high end supermarket and Lidl. Continente, Auchan and Aldi are also nearby. Today, I’ve got a comparison between two supermarkets (Lidl and El Corte Ingles – Supercor) to give you an idea of what the price of groceries in Lisbon is, so you can budget good amount to live off per month based on these numbers.

• There were some items that were not available at Lidl, I will update those in the next coming weeks.
• The prices here are for June 2022 compared with December 2022.
• I am comparing by size since both markets may not carry the exact same brands.
• Some items were on sale, so keep in mind these are estimates to give you an idea of the average prices.
• Lidl usually has better prices, but El Corte Ingles (Supercor) has an incredible selection.
• Some prices may vary. For example, Lidl will carry different types of apples and each type will have its own price. So just keep in mind these are just sample prices.
• Next year, I’ll update this and add 2023 so you can compare how the economy is moving.
