Mercado da Ribeira in Lisbon Portugal

The Best Lisbon Cooking Schools

So, my mom is coming to visit me in Portugal for the first time since my relocation.  I wanted to give her something very special to take home. I’m not a big fan of tchotchkes, and Antonio suggested that cooking classes would be a great gift. That’s where the research began to find the best Lisbon cooking schools that offered classes in English that were short term. There are tons of cooking schools in Lisbon, however, not all of them offer classes in English. Others were way too serious, long-term classes meant for chefs. These are culinary classes more suited for a casual cook with basic knowledge of cooking skills. They’re geared towards a fun time and learning to make Portuguese classics.

  1. Hello, would you be able to tell me if you found any professional cooking courses in Lisbon taught in English please ?

Are you looking for professional classes so that you can get into the hospitality industry? These are lighter. I believe some of the universities will offer classes in English because of the Erasmus program. Let me know and I’ll ask around.

  3. I want a cooking school that trained in English that l can enroll and have a certificate to work atfer the school like how many months or years for the school

  4. Hi Blanca!
Thank you for these cooking class recommendations! I noticed that most of the places you listed offer mainly one-time classes. I recently moved to Lisbon and I’m trying to find a cooking school that offers more long-term courses, but am having trouble finding them. If you know of any places, I would love to hear your thoughts 🙂
(And just to clarify, I’m looking for a program that can be attended as a hobby, I’m not trying to become a full time chef haha!)
Thank you so much for you help! I’m still familiarizing myself with the city and your blog is incredibly useful.
    Kindly,
    Ylva
