Antonio Evans Staff asked 6 years ago I've read a lot about the various horrors of car hire from Lisbon airport. I think I know who not to hire from. Which company in Lisbon airport is easiest and fastest to acquire a car in the terminal? Which is least likely to try to scam us? Is it better to buy excess insurance from the car hire company or from other insurance company (i've heard this can be done, and is a lot cheaper as you get a year's coverage for around 60 euros but not sure on the details)? Should I really bring a torch/flashlight to inspect car before renting? Any other tips will be greatly appreciated. Also, is GPS necessary or will iPhone maps be sufficient? Thanks for any and all info.
