Antonio Evans Staff asked 6 years ago My husband, toddler and I are visiting Lisbon for 5 nights in June. Any recommendations on what neighborhood would be best to stay in? We are hoping to avoid renting a car during our time there, but want to do a day trip or two while we're there also (Sintra and maybe one other place). Is this possible without a car? Or would having a car make everything (especially with a 2 year old) make things easier?

Blanca Valbuena Staff answered 6 years ago Hi Emma, Since you have a little one, I'd recommend a neighborhood like Alvalade, Baixa or Avenidas Novas, They are flat and will make stroller travel much easier. Lisbon has a fantastic metro system and Ubers are a plenty, so no matter what neighborhood you pick you will be ok. Getting to Sintra is easy by train too. If you need another idea of a place to visit by train, check out Cascais or Estoril for a little beach time.
