My wife and I will be in Paris in Spring and want to Airbnb a place so we can "live like locals". We heard recently about a major crackdown on Airbnbs. We are a quiet couple and will probably not (yes not!) go to museums but want to eat at great restaurants and visit the gardens. So which neighborhood would you suggest and how safe are Airbnb?
Hi Hector,
I'm late in answering this, but maybe it will help others. I've stayed in all kinds of neighborhoods in Paris and I've never had an issue. Paris has a great metro, which makes it easy to get around when you need to.
I like the 5th. It is quiet, has a great park and is right by the Seine.
The 6th by Necker is also quite nice. Good commercial and close to everything.
I've also stayed in Batignolles which some people think is sketchy, but it just has more immigrants which is a-ok with me.
The Pigalle will put you in the middle of everything, lots to do.
