Antonio Evans Staff asked 6 years ago Hi there, We are planning a trip to the Lisbon area for April, been trying to get there for a while and are finally getting our act together. We don't want to hire a car so will use public transport for all travel. So far we thought we'd spend: 4 nights Lisbon 3 nights Sintra totally 7 nights. Can I do this without a car?
Antonio Evans Staff answered 5 years ago Yep, Lisboa is walking city (just get use to the hills) and Sintra canbe accessed via train. When you go to Sintra you will need to take a bus, tour bus or Uber to see the Palaces.
If you want to really plan your trip I would stay in Lisboa the whole time and just take the train the day your want to see the Palaces. It's only 30 minutes from Lisbon and the town of Sintra is pretty much a tourist trap.
