Help with finding legal accommodation for residency visa

First,

Thanks so much for your very comprehensive posts on obtaining a D7 residency. I'm beginning to put my ducks in a row and apply for one myself.

I was wondering if you could elaborate or point me in the right direction on firms, websites, realtors who provide the 6 month minimum accommodation required for the application process.

And another question: Is Airbnb in Portugal sufficient for this?

Thanks again for your help!

Best,

John

Hi John,

Glad to be of help. The process is not difficult, but there is a ton of paperwork to be done.

We're in the process of putting together a list of approved realtors (people either Antonio & I or our close friends have worked with. If you want, I can send you an email once it is ready. We'll have plenty of other resources as well for our private forum.

You can sign-up here (just leave a note on what you were particularly interested about) so we can message you once that is all ready.

***Airbnb is no longer good enough for this. That requirement changed last year. You need to have a legal lease that is registered with Financas. I think what happened is a lot of landlords/ladies were not filing their income from this type or rental and Financas decided to work with the SEF to make it harder for home owners to hide this kind of income.

You will need for the lease to be registered at Financas as well so that you can get your NIF.

...Also John if you decide to join our Grow community. We actually provide connections to immigration services and loads of other things (vetted realtors, accountants, coaches etc). See if it's a match for you :)
