I am a single mom who got a wedding gift (yeah) of a trip to Italy and Spain for 13-days. I changed the trip and now it is for me and my oldest son who is 8. We fly into Rome then in itnerary we have Tuscany. Is there kid stuff to do? Italians in my neck of woods don't really like kids so I don't know.

I loved in Rome and Tuscany for about a year and from northeast so I grew up with lots of Italians. They LOVE kids. It\'s very big in the culture and you will see kids in fine restaurants, in the street and usually be poking you with a stick because they want to play.
A few things I have heard about that fun to do are:
- Gladiator school in Rome. Your kid will learn to fight like a gladiator with shield and wooden sword. It\'s a kid fantasy if they are rough and tumble types.
- Learn to cook pizza from a pizza chef. Every kid loves pizza. In Rome and Toscana there are a few schools that have kids classes.
- Pompeii is cool in that it\'s an active volcano and yeah a bit gruesome but it will be a good site to show your kids live/death and nature
- Gelato tours. They are all over the place. Each will tell you they will bring you to the best gelato shop in Rome. is it true? Some yes some not so much.
I hope you guys have a fun time and your kids will love it.
