Hi Blanca,
I hope that all is well! I am messaging you because I would like to know which Lisbon neighborhoods would be best for someone with my profile.
I am a 27 year old women, work for a large consultanting company remotely and am considering moving to Lisbon for a month in early 2020. I currently live in NYC and enjoy working from cafes, trying new restaurants, and spending my nights out and about in the city. I want to be in a safe neighborhood, that allows me to have access to some of the best bars and restaurants in the city (for the late 20s-30s crowd).
Any suggestions?
Hi T,
All of Lisbon is great. The city is safe, small, and easy to manage via Metro. I broke down the main neighborhoods of Lisbon.
If you want to be in the middle of everything, check out Principe Real and Chiado. They are trendy and skew young. Both are really safe.
Santos is really neighborhoody with lots of restaurants and shops, but the metro does not run directly there.
Estrela is quite a lovely neighborhood as well.
I would stay away from Bairro Alto for living, but you can go there for bars, restaurants, etc.
Blanca
