Hi, Thank you for this incredible website. I read through a lot but most posts were from 2018 and today with covid things might have changed.I fell and hit my head early last week in Lisbon and ever since I have been dizzy, woozy, and losing balance when I get up, turn fast, etc. I was in a big car crash in March and fear maybe the fall now activated something and want to get a CT scan or MRI.Which hospitol would you recommend that is not too expensive and/or takes US insurance – I dont speak Portugese but do speak Spanish, French, English. Also, I’ve been in Portugal since late October and staying at least until mid-January and was also wanting to do some general blood tests, mammmogram, eye exam, dentist (bad metal filling to change). Im a 51 yr old female and smoker, high cholesterol, moderate alcohol consumer, low excercise (writer) and wanted to get things checked.Thank you for any helpor advice, Anna

Hi Anna,

I'm just saw your question. I hope you are doing ok. I am answering this in case it can help someone else. For emergencies, you can go to one of the public hospitals like Santa Maria. You can search for public hospitals here https://www.sns24.gov.pt/pesquisa-prestadores/

For the other items you will need to go to a private hospital. They tend to be more expensive. Some will accept foreign insurance, but you need to check with your insurance which do.

I have been to both public and private hospitals and I have found that there is usually always at least one person that speaks English.
