Dear Blanca,
I’m having a mini-crisis and need your help. I’m about to take a trip to Lisbon, Portugal for a Bachelorette party. I’m already feeling a bit nervous about what I should know before I go and I don’t want to embarrass myself! Can you tell me what I should know before visiting Portugal?

Tips For Visiting Portugal For A Bachelorette Party?
Dear Jennifer,
There’s no need to get stressed out. You and your friends will have a wonderful time. You’re not going to embarrass yourself.
Don’t worry about finding your way around – Lisbon is easy to get around in with some planning. Depending on where you’re going, there are a variety of ways to get around, including:
• Trains: Quick and easy access to any point in the country (I would recommend a visit to Sintra and one to Cascais).
• Buses: Affordable public transport available. Not my favorite, I would recommend the metro and Ubers.
• Car Rentals: Great for discovering the countryside, but since you’re in Lisbon, I say skip it. You don’t want to drive in our ridiculously narrow stone roads.
• Uber: Convenient way to get around in urban cities, this or Bolt are the winning answers.
Picking up basic Portuguese will help you communicate better, but in Lisbon, almost everyone speaks English.
Have you planned out where you want to have the Bachelorette party?
Almost everyone ends up in Bairro Alto, that’s the party district of Lisboa and where you will see a ton of brides & hubbies to be walking around on their last night of freedom.
If you are looking to dance, there are lots of clubs. There is B’Leza which offers live Afro-Luso music with a view of the river. LuxFragil has horrible reviews mostly because they overcharge people who are not dressed right, but they have great dance music. There are some of the clubs in Lisbon:
Double 9
Red Frog
Lisbonita Gin Bar
Cinco Lounge
The Bar
Pensão Amor
Fox Trot
5AClub
Lux Frágil
Ministerium Club
Radio-Hotel
You will want to take her to “Pink Street”, this is now a world famous party street with lots of bars to check out.
If you’re into a quieter celebration, try out Time Out Market. It’s a pretty popular food market with restaurants from Portugal’s best chefs.
Things To Do Before The Bachelorette Party
- Do a dinner cruise on the Tejo river.
- Take a Go-Cart Tour
- Hit up a Spa
Important to Know
The Lisbon Metro closes at 1am, so if you haven’t started making your way to your hotel or Airbnb by then, you’ll have to take an Uber.
Good luck on your adventure and enjoy!
Blanca
