I am a traveler like yourself and I am a museum buff. I have done small galleries in Soho, the MET a hundred times, Smithsonians and of course the Louvre. What in your opinion is your favorite museum?
That’s a pretty broad question to ask. It all depends on the city and type of art you like. I’d probably say that in NYC, it would be the Cloisters (part of the MET museum). The setting on Tyron park and all the European spolia is such a beautiful combination. For Paris, it would have to be the Louvre and in Lisbon, I’d highly recommend the Berardo Collection in Belem. It’s a fantastic modern art museum that is almost always empty so you can skip the crowds.
