We are taking a Viking River cruise which starts out in Lisbon. My wife and I love food, seeing local culture, small shops, etc. We are staying at the Hotel Tivoli Lisboa (Avenida da Liberdade) and would appreciate any recommendations on how to spend the afternoon. We are also looking for a great restaurant to introduce us to dining in
Since you’re staying on Avenida Liberdade you have tons of choices. That’s pretty much the center of everything.
From there I would absolutely go to the Miradouro of Sao Pedro de Alcantara. Great views and a fantastic spot to grab a snack and a drink. Not too far from there is Sao Roque, a museum/church with some fantastic art work.
As for restaurants, it all depends on what you want to eat. I always recommend Eleven for lunch. It’s got a Michelin star, a great view and lunch is only 35 Euros per person. Expressoes Da Nossa Terra is a bit further (but not "far" from where you are at). They do traditional Portuguese dishes updated.
