Antonio Evans Staff asked 6 years ago Do I need to buy a separate Via Viagem card for stored value for short trips and one for 24 hour passes? We will be spending 10 days in Lisbon, sightseeing in the city and taking some day trips, using public transport and figure we will need both type of tickets - to travel from from point A to point B on some days and the 24 hour pass on other days. From what I understand, the Via Viagem can be loaded with different types of tickets. How does one then select the type of ticket one needs to use for a specific trip?

Antonio Evans Staff answered 5 years ago You will need two different cards. The reader isn't smart enough to figure if you're using a 24-hour vs the normal 1.45 card.
