Antonio Evans Staff asked 6 years ago I have read that museums and other sites are closed Mondays. I am debating whether to stay in Lisbon that day or take a day trip to Coimbra (I am saving Sintra for a day when Pena Palace is open). If I stay in Lisbon, what types of things can I do on Monday? Exploring neighborhoods and walking through parks is all I can think of - not that doing this wouldn't be enjoyable. If I went to Coimbra, am I going to run into the same issue of nothing being open? I thought Mondays might be different in a university town. If I go to Coimbra by train, is it best to purchase a seat online in advance? How soon in advance? Thanks.
